At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.
We provide end-to-end solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering, and home decarbonisation.
This role is within our Metering team. We are the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, offering efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity, and water meters.
Our meter readers install, maintain, and manage meters to ensure accurate billing and monitor energy usage patterns.

What will you be doing?
You’ll investigate, detect, and prevent gas and electricity theft in residential and commercial properties. You’ll ensure installations are safe and collaborate with suppliers to determine further actions. You’ll gather evidence and inform clients to decide next steps.
You’ll also participate in debt recovery activities, which may include installing SMART meters or de-energising/disconnecting supplies.
If you pride yourself on customer service, professionalism, and integrity, and can stay calm in confrontational situations, this role is for you. Previous experience in conflict management or as a Revenue Protection Officer is beneficial but not essential; a positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset is key. If applying on a non-technical or single fuel basis, you’ll be upskilled to become a qualified dual fuel engineer with full training provided.
What you’ll bring
