Alderley Edge School for Girls is seeking a dedicated, proactive, and enthusiastic Lettings Officer to join our Site Team over weekends and evenings. The successful candidate will provide a reliable, efficient, and customer-focused service to our hirers and ensure the school's site is well-maintained, secure, and fully operational during evenings and weekend lettings .
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to our growing lettings service, working with individuals, groups, businesses, and the local community. You will be provided with all the necessary tools and resources to perform your duties, which include ensuring the site is safe, clean, and in good repair at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Caretaking Responsibilities:
· Ensure the security of the school premises, including locking and unlocking of buildings and performing regular site checks.
· Oversee the cleanliness and tidiness of the site, including classrooms, hallways, offices, and outdoor areas.
· Perform basic maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, and decorating as needed.
· Set up and move furniture to facilitate various events and activities as required.
· Undertake porterage duties and ensure the safe storage of equipment and materials.
· Ensure all areas are safe and hazard-free, reporting any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly to the Estates Manager.
· Cleaning the School mini buses
Lettings Service:
· Serve as the on-site contact for evenings and weekend users of the school premises, providing a courteous, professional, and welcoming service.
· Set up rooms and facilities as requested for lettings, ensuring all equipment and spaces meet the requirements of the hirers.
· Cleaning and tidying after any lettings as well as setting up for use the following day.
· Ensure that all health, safety, and security protocols are adhered to during events and lettings.
· Liaise with users to ensure their needs are met and resolve any issues that may arise during the lettings.
· Monitor the use of the premises and maintain a log of lettings, including any special requests or issues during events and feeding back to the School Secretary.
Health and Safety:
· Monitor and maintain the health and safety of the school site, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety standards.
· Ensure the safe use of equipment, including following safe working practices when working at height or handling potentially hazardous materials.
· Respond to emergencies as required, ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed.
Person Specification:
Skills and Qualifications:
· Strong customer service skills with a polite, professional, and approachable demeanour.
· Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
· Ability to undertake physical tasks, including lifting, moving furniture, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
· Basic knowledge of IT programs, particularly Microsoft Office applications, is desirable.
· Some knowledge or experience in building maintenance or caretaking is an advantage.
· A good understanding of health and safety issues and the ability to act in accordance with school policies and procedures.[MR6]
· Preferably First Aid trained or willingness to undertake a First Aid course.

Additional Information:
* Working Hours: This role is for weekend and evening shifts, with flexibility required based on the school's lettings schedule.
* Physical Requirements: The role involves physical tasks, including porterage, lifting and moving furniture.
* Training: Full training will be provided to ensure familiarity with the school's procedures and health and safety protocols.
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 11 months
Pay: £14.27 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 10 per week
