Roles and Responsibilities
As a Head Waiter at The Braywood Restaurant, you will lead by example, ensuring smooth service
and an exceptional dining experience for guests. You will support the front-of-house team, maintain
high service standards, and report directly to the Restaurant Manager.
1. Guest Service & Experience
• Deliver professional, friendly, and attentive service to all guests.
• Anticipate guest needs, handle special requests, and resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure a smooth and enjoyable dining experience from arrival to departure.
1. Leadership & Team Support
• Assist in overseeing the front-of-house team during service.
• Train and support waitstaff to uphold service standards.
• Lead pre-service briefings to communicate menu updates and special requests.
1. Order & Table Management
• Take and process orders accurately, ensuring seamless coordination with the kitchen.
• Oversee table settings, presentation, and cleanliness.
• Manage table allocations and assist with reservations when needed.
1. Product Knowledge & Upselling
• Maintain a strong knowledge of the menu, ingredients, and daily specials.
• Offer recommendations and upsell food, wine, and beverages to enhance the guest
experience.
• Collaborate with the kitchen and sommelier to understand pairings and seasonal changes.
1. Compliance & Professionalism
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Follow licensing laws and responsible alcohol service practices.
• Always maintain a professional and polished appearance
Checklists & Daily Tasks
• Opening: Ensure the restaurant is set up for service, check table settings, and review
reservations.
• During Service: Oversee smooth table service, support the team, and handle guest requests.
• Closing: Assist with closing procedures, finalize reports, and ensure all areas are tidy.
