We are seeking an experienced and proactive Buyer to play a crucial role in procuring essential components, consumables, and services necessary for the company’s day-to-day operations. You will ensure optimal stock levels, review product quality and pricing, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure the best value for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Place and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
* Maintain accurate purchasing records in the Opera database.
* Verify and process purchase orders, delivery notes, and supplier invoices efficiently.
* Research and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing.
* Review the quality of purchased goods and ensure supplier performance aligns with company standards.
* Monitor departmental KPIs, implementing actions to meet targets.
* Support the Materials Manager as required and attend daily operational meetings.
* Manage and maintain system-driven min/max stock levels for auto-ordering.
* Assist with additional tasks such as works vehicle maintenance, customer part enquiries, and export documentation.
Person Specification:
* Strong working knowledge of Haith parts and machinery.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Experience using the Opera database for purchasing administration.
* A proactive and positive approach as a Brand Ambassador.
KPIs and Targets:
Success in this role will be measured by:
* Vendor performance and product quality.
* Stockholding efficiency and cost-saving initiatives.
* Supplier rankings and contract evaluations.
* Administrative accuracy and system housekeeping.
