Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior PHP Full Stack Developer with extensive WordPress expertise to join our team in Manchester, UK. This role requires a minimum of 3 years' experience in PHP and WordPress development. As a Senior Developer, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of web applications, while mentoring junior developers and contributing to project planning. Job sponsorship may be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement responsive, user-friendly WordPress interfaces.
* Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to industry best practices.
* Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins optimized for performance and security.
* Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.
* Identify and resolve performance and security issues in existing applications.
* Utilize version control systems, such as Git, for effective code management.
* Engage in project planning and estimation with cross-functional teams.
* Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of learning within the team.
* Stay updated with emerging technologies to keep development processes cutting-edge.
Required Skills:
* Experience: Minimum of 3 years in PHP and WordPress development with a portfolio of relevant projects.
* Back-End Technologies: Strong expertise in PHP (version 7+), and frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.
* Database Management: Experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL or PostgreSQL.
* API Integration: Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
* Security Best Practices: Knowledge of web security principles and performance optimization techniques.
* Version Control: Proficient in Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with additional CMS platforms beyond WordPress.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Google Cloud, and server management.
* Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience with project management tools.
