Job Description
Location: TES Power, 50 Dukes Lane
Role Summary
Reporting to the Head of Design, the BIM Engineer will lead the detailed modelling and digital coordination of containerised and skid-based power systems. This design-led role focuses on developing accurate, buildable BIM models that integrate structure, major equipment, electrical systems, and auxiliary services within constrained modular environments. The role combines hands‑on BIM authoring with an understanding of data, coordination, and digital delivery.
Main Responsibilities
BIM Authoring & Design
* Develop detailed Revit models for containers, skids, and modular units.
* Model container frameworks, enclosures, and structural elements (bespoke or supplier‑provided).
Systems Integration
* Model and coordinate electrical containment systems (tray, ladder, trunking, busbar) and internal/external cabling routes.
Thermal & Environmental Considerations
* Carry out or support heat loss / heat gain calculations within modular units.
* Coordinate layouts to support ventilation and cooling strategies.
BIM Content & LOD Management
* Convert or recreate existing 3D switchgear and equipment models into Revit families.
Tender & Early‑Stage Modelling
* Produce early‑stage BIM layouts to support tendering and proposals.

Desirable
* Experience in power infrastructure, data centres, or industrial facilities.
* Familiarity with LV/MV equipment layouts.
* Experience creating Revit families from existing CAD models.
* Heat load or ventilation modelling experience.
* Experience using ACC, Navisworks, or similar coordination tools.
Personal Attributes
* Design‑focused, practical mindset.
* Confident making layout decisions and iterating designs.
* Comfortable working across engineering, manufacturing, and project teams.
* Interest in digital engineering and structured data without being governance‑heavy.
