Senior Manager-Corporate Parenting and Children with Disabilities – CMB2049e at Cumberland Council. Location: Carlisle or Workington (base flexible, with presence required at both sites). Full-time, permanent, 37 hours per week. Salary: £81,049 - £83,933 per annum.
About This Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and strategic leader to join our team as Senior Manager Corporate Parenting and Children with Disabilities. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of services for children who are in our care, are care experienced and children with complex needs and disabilities, ensuring they receive the support, stability, and opportunities they deserve. As Senior Manager and the strategic lead for service delivery, you will lead dedicated teams, driving forward our Corporate Parenting priorities, ensuring high-quality, consistent practice across the services. You will play a key role in strategic planning, partnership development, and service innovation. The role offers flexibility to be based at either our Workington office (West Cumbria House) or our Carlisle office (Cumbria House) with an expectation of visible presence across both office sites.
Responsibilities
* Lead dedicated teams to drive Corporate Parenting priorities and high-quality, consistent practice across services.
* Engage in strategic planning, partnership development, and service innovation.
* Provide strategic leadership for service delivery related to children in care, care-experienced children, and those with complex needs and disabilities.
* Represent the council in stakeholder engagement and service development activities.
Who We’re Looking For (Qualifications & Experience)
* A recognised social work qualification (Honours Degree or equivalent).
* Honours Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
* Extensive experience in statutory children’s services.
* Proven leadership in managing services, budgets, and partnerships.
* A commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
Requirements & Compliance
* This role requires a DBS check. The level of check for this role is Enhanced DBS Check with a Children's and Adults Barred List check.
* Role involves working in regulated activity with Children; it is an offence to apply if barred from such activity.
