Operations Manager
to join our growing, technically innovative
welfare cabin hire business
based in
Harlow, Essex
.
This is an
office-based but hands-on role
— perfect for someone who's previously run a small hire branch, workshop, or service operation and thrives on keeping things running smoothly day to day.
While our hire desk manages orders and customers, this role focuses on the
how
— ensuring cabins are prepped, delivered, collected, repaired, and turned around efficiently.
Key responsibilities:
• Manage a team of 3 fitters and 2 drivers
• Oversee workshop and yard flow, prioritising jobs effectively
• Maintain fleet readiness and turnaround
• Control spare parts and stock
• Coordinate transport and deliveries
• Handle third-party repairs and warranty claims
• Continuously raise standards and improve processes
What we're looking for:
• A practical, organised "all-rounder" with an operational mindset
• Calm under pressure and solutions-focused
• Mechanically or electrically minded
• Confident leading a small team
• Experienced in plant, hire, fleet, or workshop environments
Salary:
£40,000–£45,000 (depending on experience)
