KS1 SEND Teacher – Permanent, full time from September 2026 This KS1 SEND Teacher role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive and structured setting, delivering high-quality teaching to pupils with additional needs in Key Stage 1. The role is well suited to a KS1 SEND Teacher or an experienced mainstream KS1 teacher with a strong background in supporting pupils with SEND or SEMH. Teaching focuses on creating a calm, predictable environment where pupils can build confidence, engagement, and early learning foundations. Duties as KS1 SEND Teacher: Plan and deliver engaging KS1 lessons adapted to meet a range of additional learning needs Support pupils with SEND and SEMH through structured, nurturing teaching approaches Differentiate lessons to support early literacy, numeracy, and personal development Create a calm, consistent, and supportive classroom environment Use positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies effectively Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching to individual needs Work closely with support staff and wider teams to deliver inclusive practice Build strong relationships with pupils to support confidence and engagement Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times Ideal KS1 SEND Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent recognised teaching qualification Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 Strong background in supporting pupils with SEND or SEMH needs Mainstream KS1 teachers with strong SEND experience are encouraged to apply Calm, patient, and resilient teaching approach Strong communication and collaboration skills Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding Why Step Teachers?
