Falkirk Council is seeking to recruit highly skilled class teachers who are committed to delivering exceptional learning and teaching experiences for children and young people.
The key policy document for Falkirk schools is Learning to Achieve, co-created by headteachers, teachers, early years practitioners, support staff, parents/carers, pupils, and other partners.
This document clearly outlines our expectations for class teachers, including that they are practitioners who:
1. Reflect critically on their practice
2. Proactively seek professional learning opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge
3. Adopt flexible, creative approaches to meet the needs of all learners
4. Use current educational thinking to inform their practice
5. Engage in professional collaboration within and beyond the school
6. Communicate effectively with others
Successful applicants will:
* Hold an appropriate secondary qualification
* Be fully registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS)
* Demonstrate the commitment, knowledge, and skills outlined in the Standard for Full Registration
Applicants progressing to the next stage will be invited to attend:
* Classroom observation
* Shortlisted interview
If successful, you will be required to obtain and maintain PVG scheme membership and approval from the Care Inspectorate Scotland.
