Entertainer - Potters Resorts Five Lakes
Are you the life and soul of the party? Love being on stage, making people laugh, or leading fun activities? Join the team at the UK's first 5 Star holiday village in Maldon, Essex! We are on the look out for a confident, high energy Entertainer to host shows, quizzes, and daytime activities at our adult-only, all inclusive resort.
We’re looking for someone who’s genuinely funny and knows how to use that to lift a room. Whether you’re in a comedy sketch, compèring the evening, calling the bingo, or front and centre during our pre-show or late-night fun, you’ll be the kind of person who makes people laugh just by being yourself. You must be able to sing and be just as comfortable performing in one of our West End quality shows as you are making a guest laugh over a coffee in one of our bars. You don’t take yourself too seriously, you’re up for anything, and you’ve got that natural ability to connect with people. If you’ve got great comedic instincts, a strong stage presence, and love being part of a team that’s all about creating memorable moments, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepared to perform as a vocalist/Comedian in live shows and themed events, as well as delivering your own cabaret set as part of our entertainment program offerings.
* Learn and perform solo/group stand-up show
* Act as a compere (MC) for events, ensuring a fun and engaging atmosphere with excellent stage presence and microphone skills.
* Lead and take part in day activities, themed events, evening quizzes, game shows, live performances, and fitness or dance sessions.
* Learn and perform scripted show routines and basic choreography as required.
* Facilitate and introduce guest speakers and oversee events across the resort.
* Engage with guests, ideally with a strong comedic presence, to create fun, light-hearted moments throughout the entertainment.
* Assist the activities team with outdoor events and craft sessions where required and take responsibility for running programmed activities as part of the entertainment offerings.
* Handle the setup and clean-up of activities and events while ensuring safety and efficiency.
* Maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with enthusiasm and self-motivation at all times.
Hours:
* This is a full time position, based on 40 - 48 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7 to include weekends and bank holidays.
Qualifications
At least two years of experience in roles involving hosting, comedy, stage experience, and public speaking.
* A minimum of two years of experience in entertainment, guest services, resort/recreational fields, or related areas.
* Exceptional presentation, communication, and organisational skills.
* Ability to engage with a diverse audience across different demographics and ages.
* Strong microphone skills, ability to work in a team, detail-oriented, and committed to guest satisfaction.
* Willingness and aptitude to learn and follow scripted show routines.
* Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (such as recreational or DJ equipment).
* Previous experience with sound or DJ equipment is preferred but not essential.
