We’re looking for a Technical Lead to join our Group Technology and Change function at Royal London.
This is a great opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering the technical direction of a specialist platform that supports multiple areas of the business.
Reporting to the Principal Engineer, you’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, specialist team members and third‑party suppliers to ensure that Data Migration is resilient, secure and fit for the future.
About the role
* Leading the technical roadmap for a moderately complex platform, ensuring ongoing availability, performance, currency and commercial effectiveness.
* Acting as the technical authority for your specialist area, guiding the team on tools, methods and best practice to deliver change effectively.
* Planning and overseeing technical delivery of a series of data migration projects, building a re-usable data migration engine.
* Managing supplier performance against agreed contracts and service level agreements.
* Identifying opportunities to leverage new or emerging platform capabilities to add value for the business and customers.
* Building strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders and internal customers across the organisation.
* Contributing to medium‑term planning and portfolio shaping activities across Royal London.
* Supporting the build out of delivery capability through people, process, and tools.
About you
You’ll bring strong technical leadership experience and a collaborative mindset, along with:
* Deep technical knowledge of Data Migration and the confidence to act as a subject matter expert. Specific knowledge of Informatica, Alteryx and SSIS would be an advantage.
* Proven experience leading technical or development teams to deliver complex solutions.
* Strong commercial experience managing third‑party suppliers and external partners.
* The ability to influence, communicate clearly and build effective working relationships at all levels.
You’ll also demonstrate Royal London’s values through a responsible, collaborative and delivery‑focused approach, taking ownership of your development and contributing positively to team culture and outcomes.
