Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and enthusiastic Senior Systems Engineer to take the lead on a major project. In this senior role, you will be responsible for the delivery of a complex system that involves specialist sensors, electronics, and signal processing firmware/software.
What You'll Do:
* System Design, implementation, integration and acceptance for Defence Communications Projects.
* Technical leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure system designs achieve the operational performance requirements
* Liaison and collaboration with MOD, industry and other stakeholders.
* Conducting engineering design reviews with project teams and customers.
* Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including test plans, specifications, and procedures.
* Support research activities including customer or PV funded studies and prototype development.
* Review and approve technical documents, participate in design reviews, and ensure customer acceptance.
* Support the development of system enhancements and roadmaps for future upgrades.
* Promoting continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies, techniques and processes.
* Contribute to business development efforts by identifying opportunities and preparing technical proposals.
* Mentoring and developing junior staff where required.
What You'll Need:
* Proven track record in delivering complex system design, implementation, test, and integration in the defence (or highly regulated) domain.
* Experience across the full system life cycle, including design, development, testing, integration, and acceptance.
* Strong background in providing technical leadership within project teams and the business.
* Ability to present complex ideas to internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to converse with multi-disciplinary teams (Hardware, software, Firmware, Mechanical) and provide valuable input.
* Innovative and creative thinking to solve complex technical problems.
* Willingness to work as part of a collaborative enterprise with other companies possibly including short periods of staying way on customer premises and on-site when required.
* A BSc/BEng Degree in Engineering, Maths, or Science (or equivalent experience).
* Sole UK National with the ability to attain DV or SC UK security clearance.
* Full UK driving licence.
