How will you make a difference?
Napier Turbochargers, a Wabtec Corporation business unit, is seeking a visionary Engineering Director to lead innovation, product development, and engineering excellence.
Typical Day
* Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team covering Design, Analysis, Applications, and Test.
* Define and execute the engineering strategy for industrial turbocharger products.
* Oversee design, development, and validation of turbocharging systems for industrial applications (e.g., marine, power generation, heavy‑duty vehicles).
* Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, and Operations to align engineering output with market needs.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality systems (ISO, IACS, etc.).
* Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, performance optimization, and technical innovation initiatives.
* Manage budgets, resource planning, and project timelines.
* Represent engineering in customer meetings, technical reviews, and industry forums.
What do we want to know about you?
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience in turbocharger/high‑speed rotating equipment design, development, or manufacturing.
* Proven leadership experience in an engineering management or director‑level role.
* Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and rotating machinery.
* Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks, GT‑Power).
* Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar methodologies.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision‑making skills.
