Description
We are recruiting a Technical Manager (Asphalt) to support our North Wales and Midlands region. In this key role, you’ll report directly to the Regional Technical Manager and lead a team of Technical Supervisors and Technicians. You’ll play a vital part in delivering high‑quality technical support, optimising processes, and driving continuous improvement across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, develop, and support Technical Supervisors and Technicians.
Operate the FPC control systems, escalate issues, and implement corrective actions or recommendations.
Review KPIs regularly to track performance against targets and identify required improvements.
Collaborate with the local business team to identify cost‑reduction and product‑value opportunities.
Report and manage internal material and product issues with relevant departments and support resolution.
Provide technical advice and training to internal and external stakeholders.
Review and validate customer specifications.
Support internal and external audit activities.
Investigate and resolve customer queries and complaints in a timely, effective manner.

It is essential that you have experience in a technical capacity for asphalt, which will include the use of quality management and FPC systems.
You will bring excellent interpersonal, strong team ethics and strong goal orientation skills with a flexible attitude and be open to change.
You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to put forward strong, rational arguments, and are able to demonstrate a rational decision-making process whilst under pressure.
You will be logically minded and possess excellent organisational skills and be confident dealing directly with internal and external customers on both a formal and informal level. You will also have excellent numerical skills and the ability to work under pressure.
