Lead complex infrastructure delivery that shapes national defence

The role
As a Delivery Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of a major multi‑year construction and infrastructure programme within one of the UK’s most unique defence estates. This is an opportunity to shape, lead and deliver a portfolio of high‑value projects that directly support national security and the Royal Navy’s continuous at‑sea deterrent.
Day‑to‑day you’ll be required to:
1. Lead and motivate project delivery teams to achieve agreed objectives.
2. Drive safe, cost‑effective and timely delivery of infrastructure and construction projects.
3. Build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and Trade Union representatives.
4. Oversee commercial delivery, performance and compliance across your project portfolio.
5. Foster a high‑performing team culture aligned to our values and safety standards.
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Delivery Manager
6. Experience delivering construction or engineering‑focused programmes within estates, infrastructure or similar environments.
7. Strong people‑leadership capability, managing multiple teams through direct reports.
8. Experience managing client‑side project delivery or subcontractor work packages.
9. Demonstrable commercial understanding, ideally with exposure to NEC3/4 or JCT contracts.
10. Proven ability to influence stakeholders and deliver in complex operational settings.
Qualifications for the Delivery Manager
11. Degree‑level qualification or relevant professional qualification in Construction Management or a related discipline.
12. Chartered or working towards chartership (MRICS, MCIOB or equivalent) would be beneficial
13. APM qualified or working towards professional project management accreditation.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
