Overview
River Neighbourhood Team is a friendly, supportive, and hardworking team seeking enthusiastic individuals to join us. The team operates 7:30am–6:30pm, Monday to Sunday including bank holidays. Therapists shift patterns include 08:30–16:30 and are required to cover bank holidays on a rota basis. Flexible working opportunities such as compressed hours are available.
We are looking to recruit an occupational therapist on a full-time basis of 37.5 hours per week, who is innovative and keen to join the team in delivering high quality care and continuing development of integrated care in the community. The role is varied and rewarding.
We are seeking a passionate OT who is excited by change and eager to help shape a new way of delivering care in the community. We work with GPs and other primary care services, drawing on the skills of MDT colleagues to manage complex patients and ensure our services are responsive and patient centred.
Responsibilities
The role will require:
* The ability to work flexibly on a rota basis
* An enthusiastic, motivated, and innovative thinker to join a primary care facing community
* The ability to work autonomously and manage your own caseload within a multidisciplinary team
* The ability to problem-solve and manage time effectively
* The ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels
* Experience of working in a fast paced and varied environment
* The ability to travel to deliver care services
Your typical working day will include home visits for adults over 18 needing a range of nursing interventions, including end of life care, pain relief and other symptoms, wound care (post-operative wounds, leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, complex dressings), tissue viability expertise, IV therapy and other injectable drug administration, and holistic assessment of a person’s needs including environment and social circumstances. Back at base you will participate in team meetings, goal/care planning, evaluation and handover meetings. You will support pre-registration students, band 4s and HCAs. Your contribution is a valuable part of the team’s work.
