As a key member of the Special Care Dental service you will be the first point of contact for our vulnerable patients.
Responsibilities
* Ensure that dental patients’ appointments are appropriately scheduled, rescheduled, or cancelled, depending on the needs of the patients.
* Greeting and welcoming patients and visitors to the clinic.
* Ensure that all patients and visitors are dealt with in a professional and helpful manner using warmth and empathy.
* Perform general office duties such as answering telephones, scanning and filing notes.
* Undertake other duties as directed by senior management.
* Work closely with the Senior Dental Nurse and clinical staff to ensure smooth running of the clinic.
* Schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments as needed, including arranging emergency appointments for patients with infection or pain. Assist patients to fill out information forms.
* Deal with telephone enquiries.
Qualifications
* Excellent communication and IT skills.
* Organised approach to complete all administrative tasks in a timely manner.
* Previous experience of working with dental software is desirable.
