A local authority is seeking a Corporate & Support Services Officer to join its newly established Corporate & Support Services Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality services across key functional areas, including citizen focus and business support.
Your new role
As a Corporate & Support Services Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Council’s corporate functions and ensuringpliance with policy and legislative duties. You will provide administrative and clerical support to officers, manage data and processes, draft correspondence, and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing advice and guidance on policy, regulation, and legislation
2. Preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence for management
3. Managing queries andpiling responses in line with frameworks
4. Processing data and maintaining accurate records
5. Supporting financial processes including payroll and accounts
6. Organising meetings and taking minutes
7. Assisting in policy and procedure reviews
8. Ensuring GDPRpliance and confidentiality
9. Supporting continuous improvement and professional development
What you'll need to succeed
10. Minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent
11. At least 2 years’ experience in a busy office environment covering key administrative functions
12. Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and financial systems
13. Excellentmunication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
14. Ability to work independently and managepeting priorities
15. A full UK driving licence or access to suitable transport
