Overview
Waltham St Lawrence Primary School is seeking to appoint a committed and organised Clerk to the Governing Board. This is a key role providing both administrative and advisory support to the Governing Board, with an average commitment of 10 hours per month, including attendance at evening meetings.
Responsibilities
* Prepare agendas in consultation with the Headteacher and Chair of Governors
* Take accurate minutes and distribute documentation following meetings
* Maintain records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
* Provide procedural advice to governors, referencing the Guide to the Law for School Governors
* Attend approximately nine full Governing Board meetings per academic year
Person Specification
* Excellent literacy, numeracy, and IT skills
* Strong communication and organisational abilities
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Discreet and professional, with a commitment to confidentiality
* Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
* Willingness to attend evening meetings is essential
The successful candidate will be responsible to the Chair of Governors and will be expected to attend termly briefings held by the Local Authority, as well as take advantage of relevant training opportunities.
