Engagement Coordinator, Centre for Climate Repair (Part Time, Fixed Term)
Join Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy to support the Centre for Climate Repair (CCR) in fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and public outreach across Cambridge and beyond. This part‑time fixed‑term post (0.6 FTE, 12 months, subject to fund availability) reports to the Programme Manager.
About Us
CCR is a multidisciplinary centre hosted in the Department of Applied Mathematics & Theoretical Physics (DAMTP). With the expertise of Director Shaun Fitzgerald and a team of Deputy Directors, a Programme Manager and an Executive Board, CCR advances research to reduce emissions, remove greenhouse gases, and refreeze the Arctic (www.climaterepair.cam.ac.uk). We partner with University departments, national and international institutions, and industry to fund projects, PhD studentships, postdoctoral positions, and internships in climate repair research.
Role Overview
CCR seeks a self‑motivated, dynamic, and organised Engagement Coordinator to deliver the mission of interdisciplinary collaboration. You will play a key role in developing and implementing the Centre’s stakeholder and public engagement plan, managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and organising media, public relations, and events. You will work alongside the Communications Assistant to execute engagement plans for the Centre’s projects, expand CCR’s community, and raise awareness of CCR’s activities and collaborations.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement the CCR stakeholder engagement and public engagement plan.
* Foster new relationships, research opportunities, and networking collaborations with stakeholders regarding outdoor experiments.
* Assist with media public relations, event organisation, and confidentially help with public outreach.
* Support existing and new collaborations by expanding CCR’s community and increasing awareness of CCR’s activities.
Qualifications
* Proactive, adaptable, and effective networker who builds strong relationships across sectors.
* Experience planning and delivering events.
* Interest in supporting research in climate repair (a scientific background is not required).
* Hybrid working pattern; ability to travel to the Department of Engineering on Trumpington Street as required.
