The postholder will be at the forefront of customer services dealing with the public at reception desk and by telephone. The duties will also include operating a computerised booking/cash system, selling tickets/ issuing receipts and maintenance of information databases, directing conference delegates and other users.
Responsibilities
* Meet and greet customers and members of the public. Deal with the public/client enquiries, problems, difficulties or complaints and record as appropriate to ensure a high level of customer service provision.
* Provide administrative support to the Facilities Management department to include word processing and updating of databases.
* Process all incoming mail and deliveries ensuring it is allocated to the correct client.
* Close the Lagan Valley Reception and ensure it is secure before leaving for the day.
* Assist with the emergency evacuation procedures for Lagan Valley Island.
* Ensure the provision of high standards of customer care across all the services provided.
* Ensure compliance with Council policies and procedures and operate within the highest standards, which reflect the core values and behaviours of the Council.
Skills and Qualifications
* Five GCSE passes at Grade A-C or NVQ Level 2 in administration (or equivalent).
* One year’s experience in a customer service environment or receptionist post.
* Where applicants do not hold the qualifications as outlined in 1.1, they must demonstrate a minimum of three years’ experience as outlined in 1.2.
* A working knowledge of computer packages to include Microsoft Word and Excel
