Class 2(a-f) Registered Building Inspector - Building Services & Maintenance
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Class 2(a-f) Registered Building Inspector to join our Building Services & Maintenance team. As a Building Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with building regulations and codes, thereby enhancing the safety and quality of construction projects in our jurisdiction. Your expertise will be essential in assessing building plans, conducting inspections, and providing guidance to contractors and property owners on adherence to the Building Code. We are looking for someone who has a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, as you will be responsible for evaluating structural integrity, fire safety measures, and overall site compliance. This position not only requires technical abilities but also entails effective communication skills, as you will regularly interact with various stakeholders including builders, architects, and the general public. Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
* Review building plans and specifications to validate compliance with local and national standards.
* Issue permits and documentation for approved projects and ensure necessary approvals are obtained before work begins.
* Prepare detailed reports on inspection findings, highlighting any violations or required remedies to ensure compliance.
* Communicate effectively with property owners, contractors, and architects to clarify requirements and expectations regarding building standards.
* Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols and building integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
* Stay updated on changes to building code legislation and regulations, attending relevant training sessions and workshops as necessary.
Requirements
* Must hold a valid Class 2(a-f) Registered Building Inspector certification.
* Proven experience as a Building Inspector, with a strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and propose appropriate solutions.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and stakeholder engagement.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
* Attention to detail with a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of compliance and safety.
* Possession of a current driver’s license to travel between job sites as required.

Pay Per Hour: £70.00
