Join Our Team as a Quantity Surveyor
Are you an ambitious and experienced Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in commercial and contract administration? We're looking for a skilled professional to take the lead on critical projects, ensuring financial success and contractual compliance from pre-contract to final account.
About the Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be a vital part of our commercial team, reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and/or Head of Department. You will hold overall responsibility for providing a comprehensive end-to-end commercial and contract administration service, predominantly focused on the NEC4 suite of contracts. You will be a key liaison with our operational delivery teams, driving efficiency and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
This is an opportunity to support the commercial lifecycle of diverse projects, with key responsibilities including:
* Commercial Management: Owning day-to-day commercial and contract activities.
* Pricing: Accurately pricing works using both Schedule of Rates (NEC4 Option B BOQ) and Activity Schedules (NEC4 Option A).
* Contract Administration: Providing administration of NEC4 Contracts, navigating complexities and ensuring adherence.
* Precise Measurement: Conducting thorough site remeasurements to ensure accuracy.
* Application for Payment Management: Preparing and managing all applications for payment.
* Subcontractor Assessment: Diligently assessing subcontractor applications for payment.
* Compensation Event Management: Preparing and managing compensation events and expertly assessing those from subcontractors.
* Final Account Resolution: Driving the final accounting process to a successful conclusion.
* Strategic Procurement: Managing the procurement of subcontractors and services, ensuring value for money and contractual compliance.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a proactive and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with:
* A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification (e.g., BSc in Quantity Surveying) and/or substantial demonstrable experience in a Quantity Surveyor role.
* A proven ability to undertake accurate site remeasurements.
* Exceptional communication skills to convey complex financial and contractual information clearly and concisely to all stakeholders.
* A working knowledge of the Construction Act.
* Advanced Excel and IT skills to leverage technology and streamline commercial processes.
* A detailed understanding and practical experience of NEC4 contracts is a must.
Preferred Skills (A distinct advantage):
* Knowledge of the telecoms infrastructure industry.
* Working knowledge of CEMAR.
