About the role Using people skills to help deliver income to the hospice. Helping to give excellent customer service, assisting in managing a team of staff and volunteers, stock control, promoting and capturing Gift Aid, daily cash handling and banking, ensuring the staff, volunteers, the shop and the site are safe and secure. You will be energetic and love variety and keeping our shop commercial and appealing. You will have responsibility for all aspects of the business in the absence of the manager after full induction training. You'll be Maximise the contribution for the shop through sales from all donated and new goods Ensure the shop delivers high standards of customer service Capture Gift Aid at every opportunity to maximise income Assist the manager with sales promotions, stock generation activities and income from new goods Encourage a safe environment that embraces new ideas and originality Help the manager keep the shop looking it’s very best to deliver maximum income to the hospices Encourage the work of volunteers and co-ordinate the volunteers work and rotas Assist the Manager in recruitment, induction, training, and development of volunteers PLEASE SEE JOB DESCRIPTION FOR FULL KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL CRITERIA About us Southern Hospice Group is the largest group of hospices in Sussex and one of the largest in the UK. Martlets provides essential care to people affected by terminal illness in Brighton and Hove and surrounding areas.
