Whether you’re from a truck, HGV, automotive, plant, or rail background, this is your chance to work on a modern and varied fleet, including electric vehicles, while helping to train the next generation of engineers.**What you’ll be doing:*** Carry out electrical diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs on PSV vehicles* Maintain and repair electrical systems including lighting, wiring, batteries, and control systems* Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults* Maintaining and repairing our fleet of buses to DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards* Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard* Complete job cards, maintenance records, and compliance documentation accurately* Assist in breakdown response and on-road repairs when required* Collaborate with the wider engineering team to meet fleet availability targets* Supporting apprentices by sharing your knowledge and experience**What we’re looking for:*** A safety-first attitude and strong attention to detail* A team player with good communication skills* Previous experience working on buses or large passenger vehicles (desirable)* Proven experience as an electrician, ideally within PSV, HGV, or automotive environments* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills* Knowledge of modern vehicle electrical systems* Relevant qualifications in vehicle maintenance or electrical engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)* Ability to work independently and as part of a team* Flexible approach to working shifts, including weekends* Full UK driving licence (PCV licence desirable but not essential)* Full training provided, including health & safety, equipment use and cleaning standards* Competitive hourly rates and opportunities for overtime* Benefits including generous pension scheme, 25 days holiday, free travel, and a wide range of discounts including retail & leisure* Career progression, many of our colleagues have grown into management and director roles* A supportive, inclusive working environment where your wellbeing matters**Our working environment**Stagecoach is proud to be an inclusive employer where everyone is respected and supported.
