Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias (60/40)
We are currently recruiting for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a well-established manufacturing site with strong investment plans and clear opportunities for progression.
This role would suit a hands-on engineer with strong electrical fault-finding skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants long-term career development.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will provide electrical and mechanical planned and reactive maintenance support across a wide range of production equipment.
You will play a key role in improving plant reliability, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and working closely with operations to minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities
* Reactive and planned maintenance across the site to ensure safe and efficient operation of all plant equipment
* Electrical fault finding on PLC-controlled systems, motors, drives (AC/DC), inverters, servo drives, and single/three-phase supplies
* Mechanical maintenance including bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, shafts, pulleys, hydraulics, and pneumatics
* Working to PM schedules and monitoring equipment performance (OEE, downtime analysis)
* Proactive fault prevention and continuous improvement activities
* Use of a CMMS to record maintenance activities and support asset management
* Identification and management of critical spares
* Coaching and supporting operators with basic asset care
* Supporting project work, installations, and improvement initiatives
Equipment You'll Work On
* High-speed automated production machinery
* Conveyors (roller and flatbed)
* Cutters, wrappers, strappers
* Boilers, compressors, and steam systems
* Large-scale manufacturing and processing equipment
What We're Looking For
* Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer (approx. 60–70% electrical)
* Level 3 Electrical qualification minimum (apprentice trained preferred)
* At least 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or factory environment
* Strong PLC fault-finding skills (Siemens and/or Allen Bradley preferred)
* Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
* Confident working independently and as part of a team
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability
* Good communication skills and a professional approach
* Stability in employment (not a job hopper)
Shift Pattern
* Rotating shifts (early, late, nights – weekdays only)
* No contracted weekends
* Paid overtime available
* Holiday cover paid at enhanced rates
Package
* Salary: £50,000
