Office-Based (Hybrid After Training)
We are recruiting exclusively for a growing business who are looking for a Payroll Officer to join the team on a full-time permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys running payroll from start to finish, is ready to take full ownership of a Payroll function and wants to be part of a supportive, professional team.
The role is office-based to begin with, giving you the chance to get to know the business and processes. Once fully settled, you'll have the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Processing start-to-finish monthly payroll for salaried and hourly staff
* Importing and checking timesheets and hours worked
* Calculating overtime, holiday pay, statutory sick pay, and maternity/paternity pay
* Managing starters, leavers and contract changes
* Setting up new employees and maintaining payroll records
* Processing pensions, auto-enrolment and liaising with providers
* Handling PAYE, NI and other statutory deductions
* Submitting RTI and HMRC returns on time
* Producing and distributing payslips, P45s and P60s
* Responding to payroll queries quickly and professionally
* Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation and company policies
Qualifications
* Experience running payroll from start to finish (essential & within the last 2 years)
* Confident using Sage Payroll
* Good understanding of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, NI and pensions
* Excellent attention to detail
* Clear communicator with the ability to work independently
You must also be able to reliably commute to the office. The office is located within commutable distance from: Glastonbury, Wells, Bridgwater, Shepton Mallet and Cheddar.
