Interim Management Accountant job in Devon Interim Management Accountant - NHS (Devon) Devon (Predominantly Remote) 6-9 Month Contract | Immediate Start Day Rate: Competitive (Inside IR35 likely) Hays are working in partnership with a well-established NHS organisation in the Devon area to recruit an experienced Interim Management Accountant to support the finance team during a busy period of change and transformation.This is a key requirement, and prior NHS experience is essential to ensure you can quickly add value in a complex and regulated environment. Key Responsibilities: Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and detailed commentary Supporting budget setting, forecasting, and financial planning processes Business partnering with budget holders and operational teams, offering financial insight and challenge Assisting with statutory reporting and year-end processes Supporting improvements in financial processes, controls, and reporting Analysing financial performance and highlighting risks and opportunities Ensuring compliance with NHS financial governance and reporting standards About You: Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) Essential: Proven recent experience working within the NHS Strong understanding of NHS finance processes, systems, and reporting requirements Demonstrable management accounting and financial analysis experience Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with non-finance stakeholders Highly organised and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong Excel skills; familiarity with NHS finance systems (e.g. ESR, Oracle, or equivalent) is desirable The Offer: Immediate start with a contract likely to run for 6-9 months Predominantly remote working, with occasional on-site presence in Devon Opportunity to support a key NHS organisation during a critical period Competitive day rate, dependent on experience If you have the required NHS experience and are available at short notice, we’d be keen to hear from you.4802708
