Overview
We are seeking an experienced Alarms System Implementation Specialist to support a large-scale, high-hazard laboratory environment. This role focuses on improving alarm management systems to enhance safety, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing a structured alarms management framework, ensuring alignment with safety regulations and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a site-wide alarm management strategy
* Review and optimise existing alarm systems to improve effectiveness and reduce unnecessary alarms
* Produce detailed documentation, including alarm philosophies, procedures, and working instructions
* Adapt alarm management policies to suit high-hazard facilities and environments
* Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and operational teams
* Design and deliver a comprehensive implementation and improvement plan
* Support training and upskilling of internal teams to ensure sustainable alarm management practices
* Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and regulatory requirements
Required Experience
* Proven experience in alarm management/alarm systems/control systems environments
* Strong understanding and practical experience of EEMUA 191 guidelines
* Hands‑on experience with industrial control systems such as:
o Schneider Electric (EcoStruxure)
o Trend, Vista, Saulter or similar platforms
* Experience in policy or process implementation within technical environments
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and drive initiatives in complex environments
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of DSEAR regulations
* Experience working in high-hazard or regulated environments (eg, labs, chemicals, oil & gas)
* Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental compliance standards
