We are a well-established integrated Step 2, Step 3 (CBT and EMDR) interpersonal psychotherapy, Counselling for Depression service covering York, Selby, Easingwold, Pocklington and Tadcaster geographical areas.
The York and Selby Talking therapies service consists of Counsellors, High Intensity Therapists, PWPs & our Employment Team and the opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and committed High Intensity Therapists (CBT) to join our expanding 12 month fixed term)

Main duties of the job
As a High Intensity Therapist, you will be working with clients who have a range of anxiety and depression related problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. You will hold a caseload of clients, as well as undertaking other duties to allow variety in your role.
We pride ourselves as an innovative Talking therapies service and as part of this have developed opportunities for all clinicians to take on the role of champions for a variety of populations such as perinatal, BAME, Staff Wellbeing, older adults, students and long-term conditions. These roles enable you to develop your skills and experience in your areas of interest and assist the service in designing pathways of care for these populations.
About us
We are committed to facilitating continuing professional development and this is actively encouraged within our service. You will receive both 1:1 and group clinical supervision as well as regular in-house CPD sessions within the High Intensity group. Through regular appraisals we will also support you in exploring development opportunities, further training or project work you may be interested in.
You will be expected to be flexible and provide out of hours clinics as required by service need. York and Selby IAPT service currently operates Monday- Friday with all staff offering late appointments to support demand.
The service offers a blended model of delivery combining remote/home working and face to face clinics around York and the surrounding areas so you will be required to travel.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Qualification from High Intensity IAPT Course (Postgraduate Diploma) or other CBT postgraduate course OR holds a recorded doctoral level qualification in clinical psychology, a recorded/registered qualification in one of - nursing, social work, occupational therapy plus further post graduate qualification in CBT
2. Significant experience working as a psychological therapy practitioner and demonstrating the competences as required.
3. Accredited by BABCP for the provision of CBT therapy (or working towards accreditation if within one year of qualifying)

4. Understanding of other psychological therapies. EMDR, IPT, DIT
5. Trained in provision of supervision for CBT

6. Experience of working in mental health services

8. Ability to manage own caseload and time in a climate of high performance targets
9. Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care setting
10. Knowledge of psychological, social and biological models of depression and anxiety
11. Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health/ benefits and employment systems
12. Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems
13. Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post
14. Basic understanding of service contracts and performance targets and of the importance of recording activity
