Early Years Practitioner

Salary: £29,173 - £33,287 (pro‑rate for sessional)
Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks sessional
The school is non‑denominational and caters for the village of Ratho, from Nursery to Primary 7. Currently we have around 224 children on our roll and 64 in our nursery, with 10 classes including the nursery class.
We are looking for 2 passionate and dynamic Early Years Practitioners to join our skilled and motivated team. In this role you will provide high‑quality early years education for children in the school, delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences, and supporting each child’s progress.
Key responsibilities include:
* Designing and delivering stimulating learning activities that meet the curriculum framework and individual child needs.
* Supporting children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development through play and structured lessons.
* Collaborating with colleagues to maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
* Communicating with parents/guardians about children’s progress and wellbeing.
To succeed in this role you will have:
* A commitment to providing early years education that is engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate.
* Experience working with children aged from Nursery to Primary level.
* Competence in child protection and safeguarding procedures, and the ability to complete the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or its update.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. For those who have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an overseas criminal record check will be required.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and increases annually until it reaches the top of the range. We are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements.
