Commercial Engineer - Oil Heating Industry (Full time)
We are a leading provider of heating and fuel solutions, specialising in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of oil tanks and heating systems. With a strong reputation for quality workmanship and customer service, we are now looking for an experienced Installation Supervisor to lead our oil tank and pipework installation teams.
This is a hands‑on supervisory position overseeing the installation and removal of heating oil and water storage tanks, along with associated pipework. You will lead a team of 2‑3 engineers on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards, while providing leadership and support.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate oil tank and pipework installation and removal projects from start to finish
* Manage and support a team of engineers and installers, providing leadership, mentoring, and motivation
* Carry out site assessments and ensure compliance with industry regulations (including OFTEC and other relevant standards)
* Provide technical support and guidance to engineers and apprentices
* Ensure all on‑site health & safety requirements are met
* Manage project schedules to ensure timely, cost‑effective completion
* Liaise with customers, suppliers, and management to maintain strong working relationships
* Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of completed works
* Use the company CRM system and liaise with the sales department
* Identify and suggest improvements to operational processes
* Lead by example, occasionally undertaking installation or service work when needed
* Provide hands‑on support with installations and servicing when required to ensure project deadlines are met
Requirements
* Proven experience in engineering or installation fields
* Knowledge of oil storage tanks, pipework systems, and installation processes
* Leadership and team management skills
* Strong hands‑on engineering background with installation experience
* Proven problem‑solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
* Full UK driving licence
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent organisational skills
