ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT
(12 months fixed term)
Are you detail-oriented, organised, and passionate about numbers? We're seeking a proactive and reliable Accounts Assistant to join our finance team on a 12-month fixed term basis. Job Purpose & Objectives:
· Assist in the day-to-day financial activities including processing invoices, expense claims and payments
· Maintain Fixed Asset register, carry out physical verifications, ensure additions are labelled and allocated correctly. Process approved disposals
· Perform Balance sheet reconciliations
· Perform bank reconciliations
· Cashflow Forecasting – review weekly expected collections and payments
· Preparation and execution of payment runs
· Credit control – Sending reminders and statements to assist in collections for overdue accounts
· Take part in month end close processes, preparing journals entries for: prepayments, accruals, depreciation.
· Prepare VAT returns for review and submission
· Review VAT deferment accounts and import statements (C79)
· Key point of contact for issues with customers and suppliers.
Knowledge and Experience:
· Understanding of basic accounting principles,
· Recognised qualification desirable AAT level 3 or higher
· Microsoft Office Suite – MS Excel, Word, Outlook
· Ability to navigate ERP systems (Exact Globe experience preferred)
· Experience in a similar role, in a manufacturing environment
· Ability to build strong working relationships and networks
· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
· Maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations
· Proactive and enthusiastic team player
