Complex lower limb trauma management is supported by an Orthoplastic MDT group that benefits from job planned MDT meetings and clinics and use of both planned and emergency orthopaedic and plastic surgery theatre capacity. We have good cross-specialty working relationships and our Major Trauma Centre services are located together on the James Cook site.A microvascular skill set is essential for this post to support our Major Trauma Centre services.

Working for our organisation

Our department offers a range of skin cancer services which include surgical excision and reconstruction at all levels of complexity, sentinel lymph node biopsy, block dissection, and electrochemotherapy. There would be a requirement to take part in this service to some level according to skill set. Skin cancer is managed with a weekly MDT and is supported in Plastic Surgery by three specialist nurses.

There is a busy nerve injury service for upper and lower limb problems, including brachial plexus injuries and thoracic outlet syndrome. An interest could be welcomed, supported and developed if relevant.
