We are recruiting for our three-bedded children’s home in Seisdon, Wolverhampton — a nurturing environment where children feel valued, supported, and able to grow with confidence and hope.

Role Overview

The Senior Therapeutic Support Worker plays a key role in delivering trauma-informed, child-centred care to children with complex emotional and behavioural needs. Grounded in the Ubuntu philosophy — “I am because we are” — the role combines direct care with leadership, mentoring, and modelling best practice within a therapeutic home.


Shift Pattern

2 days on, 4 days off rolling rota, including sleep-ins. Shifts may include weekends and bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide high-quality, safe, and nurturing therapeutic care, acting as a positive role model
* Create a warm, therapeutic home where children feel heard, respected, and valued
* Champion PACE and other therapeutic approaches
* Make child-centred decisions and confidently challenge poor practice
* Remain vigilant to safeguarding concerns and promote children’s safety and wellbeingRepresent Ubuntu Group professionally at multi‑agency meetings


Who We’re Looking For

You will be compassionate, reflective, and committed to making a genuine difference. You will:

* Work in a trauma‑informed, child‑centred way
* Build strong, trusting relationships
* Communicate effectively and work collaboratively
* Remain calm, resilient, and emotionally attuned
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children


Education & Experience

* Minimum one year’s experience working with children or young people
* Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children’s Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* Full UK Driving Licence


Safeguarding

Ubuntu Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check with barred list, satisfactory references, and comprehensive safeguarding checks.


Induction Process

All applicants will be required to take part in a two‑week induction to complete safer recruitment checks, mandatory training and shadow shifts prior to starting work in the homes. This will be fully paid.
