About the role:
This is a hands-on Data Engineering role focused on building and optimising pipelines, transformations, and curated data layers, with a growing emphasis on delivering high-quality, production-ready data for AI and advanced analytics. You'll work across Snowflake and / or Databricks to deliver dependable, production-grade data products.
Role Responsibilities:
6. Build, maintain, and optimise reliable data pipelines (batch and/or streaming where relevant)
7. Develop transformations and curated layers using SQL and Python (Spark where applicable)
8. Engineer production workloads in Databricks (jobs/workflows) and Snowflake (ELT patterns)
9. Improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency (testing, monitoring, optimisation, documentation)
10. Collaborate with analysts/BI and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust engineering outcomes
Skills and Experience
11. 5+ years' experience in data engineering or modern data platform delivery
12. Proven track record delivering production data pipelines and curated layers (quality, reliability, and maintainability)
13. Strong hands-on experience across Snowflake and Databricks in production environments
14. Strong SQL and Python; Spark/PySpark experience where relevant to Databricks workloads
15. Solid understanding of medallion architecture and dimensional modelling techniques
16. Exposure to modern ingestion/transformation tooling (e.g., Fivetran; dbt; Coalesce) and governance concepts.
17. Experience contributing to AI projects, with hands-on involvement in building and delivering AI-enabled data products
