Opportunity
The University of Edinburgh catering department is seeking a Commis Chef. The role is based at our newest catering unit – Edinburgh Futures Institute at Edinburgh’s Old Royal Infirmary building. This historic building is being renovated and extended to form a major interdisciplinary institute, the largest of its kind in the UK. The Edinburgh Futures Institute Houses Canopy Kitchen & Courtyard comprise a modern restaurant and a busy food-to-go outlet with seasonal, on-trend, exciting food. We are looking to strengthen our food team.
As a Commis Chef, you will assist the senior chefs in the preparation of all food items for our restaurant and grab-and-go menus. You will work as part of a team to deliver our food offer to students, staff and external guests throughout the year.

Qualifications and Attributes
* A willingness to work hard and learn.
* Minimum of one year’s kitchen experience as a commis chef
* Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues.
