About the role Penrith City Council are seeking to appoint a permanent part-time experienced cleaner to join our dedicated cleaning team. This role involves daily cleaning of open work areas, offices, kitchens and toilet facilities, replenishing consumables and managing waste disposal. It also includes scheduled deep cleans and other tasks as directed by Team leaders. The successful applicant will be expected to assist in covering duties for staff on leave, participate in additional hours when required, and perform all responsibilities in accordance with Council's Health and Safety Polices. We currently have the following position available to join our Cleaning Team: Permanent Part-time 15 hours per week - 5am - 8am, Monday to Friday (3 hours per day) Essential criteria Tertiary qualification in cleaning operations or related area Previous experience in the cleaning of commercial buildings and facilities Experience in the use of specialised cleaning equipment and chemicals Demonstrated knowledge and application of Work Health and Safety principles and practices relevant to the duties and responsibilities of a Cleaner High attention to detail Ability to work without supervision Ability to work well within a team Demonstrated ability to work within timeframes to achieve established performance standards Commencing salary: $28.75 per hour, plus 12% superannuation and an Adverse Working Conditions Allowance in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award. You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied.
