Head of Service 2 (£79,968 - £87,755)
Permanent Contract of Employment – 37 hours per week
Location – Hybrid Working (Contractual Base – Llandrindod Wells)

Are you a visionary leader ready to make a real difference? Powys County Council is seeking a dynamic, visible, and inspirational Head of Housing to join our newly energised senior leadership team. Together, we’re driving forward our ambition to make Powys a Stronger, Fairer, and Greener county.
Reporting directly to the Chief Officer – Place, this pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing, fully resourced housing service through a period of exciting transformation and growth. You’ll be at the heart of strategic decision-making, supporting councillors, navigating complex financial and political landscapes, and ensuring robust governance and compliance.
What You’ll Lead:
1. Housing strategy, including housing markets
2. Improving housing standards across all tenures
3. Housing development, including a major and growing Council-house building programme
4. Management of the Council’s housing portfolio, including tenancy and estate management and repairs and maintenance
5. Homelessness strategy and services
6. Resettlement services
7. Housing compliance and quality assurance
8. Financial strategy and responsibility for the Housing Revenue Account and Housing General Fund
9. Gypsy and traveller sites
