EL reveals electrical defects inside PV modules that are invisible to thermal or visual inspection, enabling earlier intervention and more confident decisions across the solar asset lifecycle.
Q.Fly Water is Quantum Solutions' drone-based water and moisture mapping system for agricultural and land management applications. It enables high-resolution, on-demand assessment of water distribution and moisture conditions across farms and fields, supporting more informed decisions around irrigation, efficiency, and resource management.
Position summary
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for winning new business and developing key customer accounts for our drone-based inspection services, with a focus on solar PV farms and water saturation or water infrastructure inspection services. This is a new-business–focused role, suited to someone who enjoys opening doors, building trusted relationships, and converting technical services into long-term commercial agreements.
What you'll do
Identify, target, and secure new customers for drone-based inspection services in the solar and water sectors.
Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities from initial engagement through to piloting and to contract close.
Lead sales meetings, presentations, site visits, and service demonstrations.
Develop commercial proposals, pricing, and contracts in collaboration with internal teams.
Refine offerings USPs, bring new customer accounts into the business and grow them over time.
Build long-term relationships with asset owners, operators, utilities, EPCs, and O&M providers.
Identify opportunities for repeat work, framework agreements, and multi-site contracts.
Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Inspection teams to ensure accurate scoping and high-quality delivery.
Support revenue forecasting, pipeline reporting, and commercial planning.
What you'll bring
Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management for drone-based inspection services in the UK.
Strong track record of winning new business and bringing in customer accounts within this industry.
Familiarity with drone operations, aerial inspection, imaging, or data-led services.
Experience working in an SME or growing business environment.
Understanding of inspection, monitoring, or compliance-driven services.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Comfortable working autonomously and managing your own pipeline.
Willingness to travel within the UK or internationally as required.
Preferred Skills
Experience selling into solar PV farm owners/operators, O&M providers, utilities or agricultural industries
