Further information: Two Personal Assistants are required to support an 11‑year‑old and a 13‑year‑old boy to access social and leisure activities within the community.
The 11‑year‑old is nonverbal, loves bugs, the outdoors, airports, and parks. He can use the toilet independently at home but may need reassurance when away from the family home. He is anxious about natural disasters and often seeks help and reassurance. The 13‑year‑old enjoys wooded areas but must wear a wrist strap outside to prevent wandering. He is highly distractible, likely to wander at speed, and is dangerous around water. He can use the toilet independently but needs supervision near taps. He can speak nonsense words but asks for basic needs such as a drink or bathroom breaks.
Responsibilities
You will promote the two boys' independent living and life skills and support them in engaging with social activities. The successful applicant will be active, positive, confident and extremely supportive.
Qualifications
Desirable: knowledge of Makaton signing.
All candidates will require a satisfactory DBS check, which will be paid for by Hull City Council.
Details / Benefits
 * Location: HU6
 * Rate of pay: £12.21 per hour
 * Hours: 20 hrs per week during school holidays only (10 hrs per week for each child)
 * Vacancies: 2 vacancies – 1 PA per child preferred
