Projects Lawyer

Leading international law firm is currently looking to recruit a lawyer to join their highly successful and established Projects team based in their Edinburgh offices. This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of both a UK-wide and international Projects team.
Role Profile:
The team acts for private and public sector clients (including international Governments), funders, and consortia across sectors such as social infrastructure, transport, and waste, both in the UK and internationally. They understand the commercial, strategic, technical, geographical, and political factors impacting their clients. Their market-leading presence provides access to contacts, sponsors, and key decision-makers worldwide. The role offers an excellent opportunity to lead high-profile, pathfinding transactions across the UK and internationally.
The role involves working on:
* Advising private and public sector clients, funders, and consortia on UK Public Private Partnerships (PPPs), including procurement, negotiation up to financial close, and post-close support during construction and operational phases.
* Providing advice in the health, education, and transport sectors.
* Handling public procurement (domestic and international).
* Managing international infrastructure projects, including regulatory drafting and PPP toolkit development.
Candidate Requirements:
* Ability to lead and project manage high-profile cases independently.
* Experience negotiating project agreements, sub-contracts, and ancillary documents throughout all project phases.
* Experience leading dialogue phases of PPP projects is advantageous.
* Experience advising on public procurement is beneficial.
* Commercially astute with awareness of key legal and business news.
* Excellent communication, client relations, and teamwork skills.
* Provides professional, timely, and quality service, responding effectively to client requests.
* Understands positive client support and builds confidence within the team and firm.
* Works cooperatively, sharing information and knowledge.
* Manages time effectively and seeks to meet utilization and individual/team targets.
* Takes ownership of objectives and recognizes opportunities for repeat business.
* Builds and maintains a network of internal and external contacts.
* Contributes to business development initiatives.
* Maintains a controlled, flexible approach under pressure.
