Binnies, part of the RSK Group, is seeking a Commissioning Engineer for a full-time and permanent position at our head office in Redhill, Surrey.
The primary purpose of this role is to plan, execute, and document commissioning activities on projects and programs in a safe manner, fully aligned with client processes, systems, and procedures.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist the design team with commissioning strategy and sequencing of integration.
2. Support the process from design and construction through commissioning to final client handover.
3. Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary project or area commissioning teams.
4. Develop and maintain detailed commissioning schedules and packages to track progress.
5. Maintain open communication and strong relationships with clients.
6. Support the management of commissioning budgets and man-hours when required.
7. Create clear commissioning procedures as per contractual requirements.
8. Plan and prepare for commissioning activities and milestones (e.g., supplier coordination, chemical cleaning, tests).
9. Implement coordinated operations control to ensure smooth execution of activities.
10. Develop controls for spares, consumables, outstanding work, and materials.
11. Coordinate daily commissioning activities, verify systems, and update as-built drawings.
12. Support out-of-hours call-outs as needed.
13. Supervise, train, and develop direct reports where applicable.
14. Adhere to safety and quality standards.
15. Identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities.
16. Support change management related to improvements.
17. Encourage staff engagement in continuous improvement activities.
18. Manage additional commissioning activities assigned by the manager or head of commissioning.
Essential Requirements:
* CSCS or ECS card in an appropriate discipline.
* CITB SSSTS certification.
* First Aid at Work certification.
* SMSTS certification.
* Certified PROFIBUS Installer.
* PROFIBUS commissioning and maintenance experience.
* Confined Spaces Entry (Medium Risk).
