Quantity Surveyor
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor for the Lower Thames Crossing project, a major UK infrastructure scheme. The role will be based in Derby initially, with a full‑time on site presence required at the South Ockendon site from 2027.

As part of Balfour Beatty’s Asset & Technology Solutions (ATS) business unit, you will join the Temporary Site Services (TSS) team and oversee the commercial management of Modular Building, Temporary Electrical, M&E Package, Fire and Survey works, supporting project development, pre‑construction activities and later all commercial aspects for TSS.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing monthly applications, accounts, and subcontract changes in line with NEC4 contracts
* Preparing and presenting monthly commercial reports (CVRs) to the TSS Management Team
* Overseeing open book contracting and ensuring robust financial management
* Supporting procurement and drafting subcontracts for additional site service phases
* Engaging collaboratively with internal project teams and external supply chain partners
* Managing debt recovery and forecasting project performance
* Potentially managing and mentoring Commercial Assistants or Assistant Quantity Surveyors
What You Need
* A proven Quantity Surveyor with solid experience in subcontract environments
* NEC4 contract experience (preferred)
* Strong financial and CVR management skills
* Excellent communicator who thrives in a collaborative team environment
* Experience working across M&E, modular, or temporary site services (advantageous but not essential)
* A proactive and positive attitude aligned with Balfour Beatty values
