Position\nOverview:As a Preventative Maintenance\nEngineer, you will work in conjunction with the controller, to\nmaximise the operational availability of equipment for the customer\nthrough timely and efficient routine and preventative maintenance\nservicing and machine inspections. Identifying possible issue’s\nwhich may impact availability as well as being tasked with carrying\nout minor repairs as requested. During this role you will be an\nambassador for safety, by servicing the products in a manner which\npromotes safety for self and customer.

Major Job\nFunctions
* Preventative\nMaintenance Servicing (carrying out routine servicing of equipment\nin line with manufacturers guidelines, taking routine oil samples)\n75%
* Machine Inspection (carry out visual /\nmechanical analysis of machine condition highlighting developing\nissues with systems and components including hydraulic, electrical,\npowertrain, mechanical) 20%
* Minor Repairs\n(complete minor repairs as identified during machine inspection,\ncarry out installation of telematic systems, carry out\nundercarriage inspections)\n5%

*This is a\nfield-based role. For this position it is essential that all\ndrivers have held a full driving licence for 2 years.\n(Eligibility will be subject to a full DVLA licence\ncheck)
*Working\nHours - 43hrs per week (flexi start and finish times). Working\npattern Monday – Friday (working 1 Saturday in 3, at overtime\nrate)
Specific\nSkills
The job requires a basic\nknowledge of the four main product elements (Engines, Hydraulics,\nPowertrain, and Vehicle Electrics/Electronics) relating to\nservicing and repair of heavy mobile plant (or similar e.g Heavy\nGoods\nVehicle)

Accountability
To\nattend customer locations as advised by controller, to carry out\npreventive maintenance servicing. To liaise with service\ncontroller and customer both at the outset and as work\nprogresses. To ensure that all work is carried out to high\nstandards and that equipment is safe before handing back to\ncustomer. Ensure equipment is serviced in line with\nmanufacturers recommendations and that all associated paperwork is\ncompleted accurately and in a timely manner including recording\ncustomer signatures. Take proper care of company vehicle and\nequipment.
Education\nand Experience
Either direct experience\n(around 3 years) or working in a related engineering function, e.g.\ncar mechanic, HGV fitter, Agricultural Engineer former REME or\nexperience on military vehicles such as recovery mechanic or a\nformal apprenticeship qualification that includes at least C&G\nlevel 1, formal training in health & Safety desirable but not\nessential as further training will be\ngiven.
This\nposition is a great opportunity for engineers with transferable\nskills looking to get into the plant industry. Training for the\nrole will be provided, there are opportunities for employees in\nthis role to progress into a field service position in the future\nfollowing further\ndevelopment.
