Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Location: Ashford
Salary: £120 - £130 per day
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term (with potential for permanent placement)
Start Date: ASAP / October 2025
Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Ashford. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs.
The Role
As a HLTA, you will:
1. Support teaching and learning across the school, working with pupils with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH).
2. Lead small group interventions and occasionally cover lessons under the direction of teaching staff.
3. Assist with the planning, delivery, and assessment of learning activities.
4. Build positive relationships with pupils, helping to promote independence, engagement, and personal development.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need to:
5. Hold HLTA status or have significant experience as a Teaching Assistant with leadership responsibilities.
6. Have a strong understanding of SEN and experience supporting children with additional needs.
7. Demonstrate resilience, patience, and excellent communication skills.
8. Hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
