Water Mains Engineer
Location: Field Based - Covering South Wales and Bristol
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 (DOE)
Hours of work: Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work and the option of overtime.

Water Mains Engineer Role
This is a customer‑facing role where you will independently investigate and repair external water supply issues, using technical knowledge, practical experience, and a safety‑first, customer‑focused mindset.
Water Mains Engineer Responsibilities
* Independently investigate and repair external water supplies to domestic and commercial properties.
* Accurately identify leak locations and determine ownership and liability for repair works.
* Proficiently use hand and power tools for excavation, pipefitting, and other tasks.
* Provide clear, reassuring communication to customers, explaining the work required and the process.
* Maintain consistent and proactive communication with the Field Operations Team at HQ.
Required Experience and Skills
* Leak detection techniques, including use of listening sticks, ground microphones, or other acoustic equipment.
* Experience with find & fix water supply repairs.
* Familiarity with trenchless pipe installation (moling) – desirable but not essential.
* Ability to create new points of entry for water supplies into buildings.
* Skilled in using a CAT scanner to identify underground service pipes and cables.
* Proficiency in reinstating surfaces to a high standard, including paving slabs, block paving, cold lay tarmac, and concrete.
