This role requires you to be a driver and hold a full UK driving licence. Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our team in Aberystwyth.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
Responsibilities
* Provide daily support to individuals with learning disabilities, including medication assistance where required and helping with daily activities.
* Offer emotional support and build trusting relationships with individuals and their families.
* Work with a diverse group of people, understanding and respecting their individual needs, preferences, and abilities.
* Adapt to various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to cover 24-hour care services.
* Contribute to planning and delivering person-centred care in collaboration with the team.
Qualifications & Requirements
* A genuine passion for supporting others.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
* A full UK driving licence and the ability to drive as part of the role.
* All roles subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
Contract Options & Scheduling
* Full-time: 37.5 hours
* Part-time: contracts from 16 to 34 hours
* All services are 24-hour care. Rotas are prepared at least 4 weeks in advance to help you plan your personal and social life.
* Sleep-in available with an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.
