You will be joining a high-profile and very well-established Civil Engineering Contractor with a proven track record of deliveringplex and vital infrastructure projects within the water, highways, and heavy civil sectors. With a very good reputation in the market, they work on projects across the Northwest region and offer a strong pipeline of work for AMP8 as well as excellent opportunities for career progression. Due to continued growth and significant growth, they are now seeking a Pre-Construction Planner.
Your new role:
As a Civils Planner, you will play a crucial role in the initial stages of their construction projects, focusing on the planning and programming of their civil projects. Reporting to the Pre-Construction Director, you will lead the planning and programming within the pre-construction team to improve their chances of winning contracts and establish project controls from the tender stage. This includes developing fullypliant, resource-optimised and risk-managed tender programmes to ensurepetitive, high-value submissions. You'll work closely with Preconstruction, Project Teams and clients to manage a diverse pipeline of civil engineering projects valued between £1m-£30m within the Northwest.
1. Lead tender planning/programming to support winning bids and set up project controls.
2. Develop 4-6 NEC4pliant, resourced tender programmes monthly.
3. Collaborate with estimators and bid teams to createpetitive offers.
4. Define Work Breakdown Structures aligned with client and internal standards.
5. Present programmes to senior leadership and contribute to tender strategies.
6. Produce quality written narratives supporting tender submissions.
7. Review and improve programmes based on operational feedback and lessons learned post-tender and post-contract.
What you need to succeed:
8. Degree, Industry Qualification, Or HND
9. Previous experience working as a planner, ideally 5 years in a civil engineering environment
10. Knowledge of highways, structures and public realm works
11. IT skills
12. Understanding of NEC contracts
